Oh, Captain, My Captain: The Captain Dildo from GoodVibes

I recently received the Captain Silicone Dildo from GoodVibes.com in exchange for an honest review. I am not required to give it a positive review.

I received the Captain at the same time as the First Mate. The First Mate is “girthy” by normal standards (girthy is normal to me) and the Captain is “girthy” by my standards. The Captain Silicone Dildo measures in at 7 ½ ” long by 1 7/8” wide. The Captain is sculpted similarly to the First Mate, only larger: the head is well-sculpted with a defined coronal ridge, and the straight shaft is inundated with realistic veins.

If you have a girthy partner or are used to “girthy” dildos and are looking for a bit of a stretch or more fullness, this might be a great pick for you. The flared base makes the Captain suitable for anal play (if you prefer larger dildos) and for using with an O-ring style harness. The flared base doesn’t have any suction attributes, so if you would like to use it on the wall or floor of your shower or tub, you’ll need a separate suction cup accessory.

The superior-grade silicone, the Captain is non-toxic, hypoallergenic, phthalate-free and also non-porous and easy to clean. You can put the Captain in the dishwasher, boil it, bleach it, wash it in warm soapy water, or use your favorite toy cleaner. Be ware, it’s not the most fuzz-less silicone toy, but it’s not the worst. It didn’t really pick up fuzz balls, but hair does stick to it. Use only non-silicone lube as silicone lube will break down silicone toys.  We all know I recommend water-based lube.

The packaging is the same as the First Mate: it is a basic plastic clamshell with a molded insert for stabilizing the Captain, along with a thin cardboard insert that tells a little about the Captain. I presume it is all recyclable, although we don’t have recycling in our immediate area. It seems to be stable enough to use for storage, at least for a while, even though it’s pretty bulky.

Similarly to the First Mate, the “erection quality” is quite firm with no “squishiness” when you squeeze it. This is conducive to good thrusting and for having something to squeeze down on when you see fit. It is also available in four colors: vanilla, caramel, coffee, and black to suit your skin tone preference or fantasy.
